Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Training
The training courses provide a comprehensive introduction to SAR technology, from Data Acquisiton to Features Characterization, Interferometry and Polarimetry, together with examples of applications in Data Mining, Surface Models and Change Detection and Monitoring.
ASRC offers two different types of training courses, based on the level of complexity:
SAR Basics Training is an introductory course, for users that want to familiarize themselves with SAR imagery and it's characteristics. It provides basic knowledge about radar data processing and possible applications.
SAR Advanced Training is dedicated to advanced users and introduces more complex methods. Among the main topics covered are:
1. Interferometry (InSAR): acquisition geometry for interferometric modes, signal processing, telecommunication basics, interferometric principles, errors mitigation and examples of applications in Elevation Models and Detection Change and Monitoring.
2. Polarimetry and Polarimetric Interferometry (PolInSAR): a combination of Interferometry and Polarimetry with the purpose of extracting information related to the backscattering properties of the ground, with possible applications in Biomass Estimation and Targets Characterization.
