ASRC will participate to the “First International Conference on Moldavian Risks - from Global to Local Scale” between 16th and 19th of May, 2012.
During the training session of the Geospace project at the beginning of February 2012, the ASRC experts introduced to the participants the 4.0 version of the LEOWorks, as one of the interactive teaching instruments for Geography and Geomatics promoted by the project.
Eduspace launched the Interactive Meteosat application that started in 2009 as a project conducted by ASRC.
A Similarity Measure between Regions in Satellite Images, for Zone Classification/Recognition

Workshop on Innovative Data Mining Techniques in Support of GEOSS, 31 August - 2 September 2009, Romania
Abstract
Specialists all over the world are trying to develop automatic tools for specific data mining. The main interest is the identification of the ground structures, both natural and artificial: agricultural fields, lakes, forests, urban areas, roads, etc. This process is called segmentation.
The accuracy of the border drawing between segments is the main quality requirement for segmentation. The resolution scale of the segmentation is another important matter. It has to do with the dimension of the objects we want to extract from an image, i.e., with the level of details in the final puzzle.
The scale of the segmentation must be adapted to the purpose of the data mining (the different approaches and needs of specialists in different fields interested in satellite images).
