ROKEO seeks to install at the Romanian Space Agency the ESA KEO (Knowledge Earth Observation) system that would fully integrate in the ESA SSE. More specifically, ROKEO also aims at installing a Romanian version of SSE, and upgrade the existing infrastructure with new algorithms, processors, and web services. It will also provide data, information and knowledge for the system.

Therefore the system will be granted new functionalities, among which the following: it will create an EO reference data set for Romania; it will elaborate new algorithms that would provide EO images extraction; it will develop new methods to enrich EO images with other exogenous data, aiming at a new generation of KIM (Knowledge Information Mining) systems; etc.

ASRC’s task within ROKEO is to gather the user requirements and provide the services development by coming up with the algorithms, processors and web services consequently needed.
