HKD aims to develop a software application for data processing, concerning the kinematics of the human locomotion system. Such an application will obtain information about the time evolution of the stress in articulations (forces, couples of forces, direction of actions and direction of movement).

The development of this project was triggered by the need of an increase in physical performance, regardless of domain and is based on an idea coming from the National Institute for Sport Research. Therefore, the software application aimed by HKD can be used for: motion diagnosis and individualized recovery; monitoring and accelerating post-surgery recovery of patients that underwent orthopedic interventions; supervised training of astronauts after long periods in microgravity; the efficient training of sportsmen.

ASRC’s task within the project was to provide the necessary research and to come up with a plan to implement the software application aimed by HKD.
