BIOINFOQSAR

bioqsarThis project seeks to make a difference in the condition of people diagnosed with tumoral affections by designing, developing and implementing a QSAR system to model anti-tumoral and anti-rheumatic drugs in individualized therapies.

Drug experiments are very expensive and time consuming. Therefore, BIOINFOQSAR will deal with these issues by developing an application that would analyze a certain drug (in particular anti-tumoral drugs used in the treatment of cancer) and modify its active substance in such a way that the newly modeled drug would lead to better results.

This application will basically pick the most favorable substance before it runs the tests. Therefore, time and cost will be substantially reduced.

ASRC’s task is to develop such an application, arrange descriptors in a virtual library, and analyze the model. The latter will be accomplished by observing a set of diagrams and the way the substance fits into it. Once this step is completed, the substance undergoes lab analysis.

Presently, each step of such a process needs to use its own applications. BIOINFOQSAR will develop an application that comprises all steps. Basically, the newly developed QSAR system will do the task of several applications at once, in less time, at lower costs.
