ASRC will participate to the “First International Conference on Moldavian Risks - from Global to Local Scale” between 16th and 19th of May, 2012.
During the training session of the Geospace project at the beginning of February 2012, the ASRC experts introduced to the participants the 4.0 version of the LEOWorks, as one of the interactive teaching instruments for Geography and Geomatics promoted by the project.
Eduspace launched the Interactive Meteosat application that started in 2009 as a project conducted by ASRC.
The Launch of Romanian Satellite Goliat
The Romanian satellite Goliat was launched with the ESA’s vehicle Vega today, 13th February 2012 from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
Vega is realizing into orbit seven ESA sponsored CubeSats built by teams of students from European universities. Among these, the Romanian nanosatellite Goliat was built by the University of Bucharest, Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romanian Space Agency, Romanian Institute of Space Science, as part of ESA Education programme.
The satellites will be deployed into an orbit of 300 x 1450 km at an inclination of 69.5 degrees. They will have a natural orbital lifetime of up to 4 years, depending on their rate of orbital decay due to atmospheric drag. They will use small ground stations based at their respective universities.
