Team

Our team consists of high-flying scientists and consultants who share the same vision: getting and keeping a strong position in a very dynamic market.

Catalin Cucu-Dumitrescu

Catalin Cucu–Dumitrescu is senior researcher. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Theoretical Mechanics in 1991 at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Bucharest. He received his PhD Celestial Mechanics in 1997 from Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca with a thesis focusing on the N-body problem and the development of new mathematical methods and instruments for its investigation.

He has a long time experience in digital data processing and algorithms development for various operational applications. His main interests are space dynamics, data mining, pattern recognition and neural networks. Among his achievements are the development of various software applications and services mentioning a complete system for automatic license plate identification and recognition and two web-based services for semantic analysis of text documents.

From 1991 he is a researcher with the Gravitational Laboratory of the Space Sciences Institute and from September 2007 he joined ASRC, as Technical Team Leader.

Eliza Munteanu

Eliza Munteanu graduated in 1993 the Faculty of Material Science and Engineering and in 2006 the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, both of them in University Politehnica of Bucharest. She is preparing her PhD in ‘Active control techniques for aerospace structures’.

The main interests are applications of smart material for vibration control, structural health monitoring and morphing structures, especially in domain of aeroelasticity.

Her work is mainly focused on the development and evaluation, by mathematical modelling, numerical simulation, physical modelling and laboratory tests of some methodologies and systems for structural health monitoring, concomitantly with vibration active control.

She is part of several national research projects teams in the field of Space and Security and in the field of New Materials, Processes and Products.

Valentin Poncos

Valentin Poncos received the Bachelor degree in Geophysics from Bucharest University in 1993 and the Master of Science degree in Geophysics (Signal Processing and Waves Propagation) in 2000 from University of Calgary. From 1996 to 1998 he was a Software Engineer involved in GPS receivers design for Signature Technologies in Vancouver. Between 1998-2000 he worked as a Geophysicist in seismic acquisition systems software design and data processing for GEO-X Systems in Calgary.

From 2000 to 2004 he worked as a Signal Processing Software Engineer for Thales Defense Systems in Ottawa where he implemented the Signal Processor for the Infrared Detection and Tracking System installed on the German, Dutch and Canadian military frigates.

Between 2004-2006,
Valentin Poncos joined the Interferometric Synthetic Aperture R&D group at MacDonald Dettwiler in Ottawa where he worked as an expert in Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry. From 2006 to 2008 he continued to gain expertise in InSAR and Persistent Scatterers Interferometry as a Physical Scientist at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing.

Presently he is Head of Radar Remote Sensing Group.

Mihai Racheru

Mihai Racheru is research scientist collaborating with ASRC since its establishment. He has a    Master of Science degree in Aerodynamics.

His experience is related to Aeronautical Structural Design, Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). He is involved in research projects in the field of Bioinformatics. In connection to these projects he performs activities like mathematical modelling, programming, numerical simulation and data processing.

Delia Teleaga

Delia Teleaga received the Bachelor degree in Mathematics in 1997 and the Master of Science degree in Mathematics in 1998 from the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. In 2000 she received the Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from University of Kaiserslautern, Germany.

From 2000 to 2004 she was a doctoral student at the University of Hamburg, Faculty of Mathematics. She was involved in a research project in the field of CFD and received the Dr. rer. nat. degree in 2005. From 2005 to 2008 she held a postdoctoral position at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, where she worked on implementing fully space-time adaptive FEM for magneto-quasistatics.

Since January 2009 she joined the ASRC team as Expert Mathematician.
